DESCRIPTION:Coppola\, Bogdanovich\, Scorsese\, Demme\, Hellman\, Dante: They all got early career boosts from Roger Corman\, which is perhaps why his legacy as a film producer has somewhat overshadowed his legacy as a director. But the King of Cult deserves his own flowers for directing films like the Vincent Price-starring Poe cycle and this pulpy 1963 sci-fi horror. Ray Milland fully commits to the part of Dr. Xavier\, an eyedrop-inventing scientist who makes the ill-advised decision to experiment on his own peepers.
